Itchy, flaky, ‘angry’ skin needs a good face wash
We know, we know. There are so many skincare products out there today it’s difficult to know which way to turn. Before you even think about brands, you’ve got to decide which style of face wash you want. A cleanser, a scrub or a mask?
First of all, a mask is something you apply weekly, unlike a face wash. Like the name suggests, a face wash cleans your skin, by washing away all that’s accumulated on your skin throughout the day (and the sweat and impurities on your pillow after a night’s rest).
But what about a scrub? How do they compare to face wash products? Scrubs are designed to remove dead skin cells on your face. Because of this, the ingredients used to achieve this are a little harsher than your face wash. These products usually contain abrasives that can damage skin with over use. But that gritty texture is there for a reason: to get to those dead cells buried deep in your pores.
Cleansers are gentle and won’t irritate your skin with daily (or twice daily, we should say) use. Face washes remove dirt, oil, makeup and environmental pollutants. You need to clear these impurities from your skin every day – unlike dead skin cells. Pair your scrubbing with your weekly face mask session. It doesn’t need to be used as frequently as a face wash.
There’s a place for both your face wash and scrub,
You just don’t need to scrub every day.
Scrubs do a great job at deeply penetrating your skin to unclog pores. While your face wash will keep your face clean, those pores are less likely to become blocked. They work hand in hand. Use a good face wash to remove dirt, dust and anything else that shouldn’t be on your skin. Then, turn Sunday into your self-care day where you sit in the bath and give your face a scrub and hydrating mask.
The better quality your face wash, the less you need to worry about scrubbing. Our double-cleansing (yep, 2x more effective) botanical face wash is lightweight yet packs a powerful, natural punch. It’s a light foam that, when applied to dry skin, gets rid of oil-based impurities and makeup. Add a few drops of water and a soft, milky-like consistency forms (for deeper cleansing).
It’s thanks to ingredients like the sulfate-free surfactants that gently, but very effectively, clear and hydrate your skin. Glycerin and niacinamide, two leading players in the leading anti-ageing products (including ours), help empower your skin to look and feel great.
With this face wash, you might not even need to worry about weekly scrubbing. We keep your skincare routine simple, with scientifically-proven natural solutions.
