Look after yourself when you’re busy. Instil positive behaviours, every day.

Diet and exercise are two of the most common struggles. You walk in the door after a long day of work. In the battle between working out or ‘too tired’, the latter often wins.

Modern society promotes fast. Fast everything. There’s an app for almost anything these days. Eat faster, work faster, be more productive, get to a destination quicker…

When it comes to dieting and taking care of our bodies, many of us follow a ‘crash’ mentality. We pick an arbitrary number: lose five kilograms in two months.

This is then approached from a perspective of willpower. Saying no to sweets. Running more. Eating less. Cutting out drinking. The thing is, this isn’t sustainable.

Want to know the real secret to avoiding extra kilos?

Forget willpower. It’s about integrating positive behaviours into your daily life. So, instead of forcing yourself to work out, learn to enjoy it. Build a series of healthy life habits.

You need to focus on one goal at a time. Build up to it slowly over a period by forming habits.

It’s an interesting thing, health. If you’re not feeling well, chances are you won’t work. At the very least, you’ll struggle to be productive. Yet, so many of us don’t prioritise our health.

Re-program your mindset on health. Look at it as a tool for your business growth.

Don’t let your health take a backseat. It’s easy to forget that run, or choose takeout over cooking, when you’re busy trying to build your empire. But remember, your health is your biggest asset.

Here are a few easy ways to keep your Monday to Friday healthy.

  • Whether you’re buying or preparing food, choose quality over quantity. You want a meal that’ll sustain you throughout the day. Look for something that offers protein and fibre, such as a wholegrain turkey sandwich or lentil salad with a side of fruit. Make every bite count. It’s fuel for you and your business.
  • Sit down and enjoy your meal. Take 15 minutes out of your day to have a proper break. No matter how busy you might be, if you don’t take the time to re-charge, you’ll feel that 3.00pm lull. Don’t allow your body to get tired and fatigued.
  • When you’re eating, put your phone and emails away. Focus your full attention on what you’re eating. This is called mindful eating. You’ll be able to get back to work faster. You’re also less likely to overeat, too. Let’s make your waistline happy.
  • While you’re at it, why not pop on a pair of Eye-V Moisture Boost Hydrogel Patches while you have your lunch and come back to work looking reinvigorated.

Beauty, from the inside out.
